Clare holds a Bachelor’s degree in Environment and Sustainability from Sewanee: The University of the South and brings a strong foundation in experiential, student-centered education to her work with students. She first came to Jackson Hole through Teton Science Schools, where she worked as a field instructor leading hands-on, place-based learning experiences that emphasized curiosity, collaboration, and real-world problem solving. Through this work, Clare developed a deep appreciation for learning rooted in connection to place and learning beyond the traditional classroom.
Clare currently works at the Montessori School of the Tetons, where she continues to deepen her understanding of student-led and non-traditional educational approaches. Her teaching philosophy centers on empowering students to take ownership of their learning while building confidence, independence, and essential life skills. Clare strives to create supportive learning environments where students feel capable, engaged, and encouraged to grow—academically and beyond.
