Garrett’s eleven years of classroom experience include work in both public and private schools, within five different countries, within elementary, middle, high school, and adult classrooms, and to both tech free and paperless schools. He has taken the best practices from each experience and applied them to his teaching to be the most effective tutor possible.

His path includes earning a Bachelor’s degree in English and a Master’s of Education from the University of Maryland, teaching in public middle and high schools outside D.C., teaching and developing curriculum for an international traveling IB boarding school in Buenos Aires, Hiroshima, Boston, and Hyderabad, working as an elementary and technology teacher at Journeys School, teaching 10th Grade English for Swiss Semester and finally, to founding Teton Tutors. 

Garrett believes in giving students the tools they need to support themselves. He hopes that by the time they finish his sessions they have become more independent learners.


Kiersten graduated from the University of Vermont with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and a concentration in Human Development, Family Studies and Communication Sciences. Throughout her teaching career she has taught in public and private schools in Vermont, New York City, Maryland and the District of Columbia for children in Kindergarten through Grade 6. Kiersten's number one priority in the classroom is to make certain that every student feels included and confident. She believes strength lies within effective communication, which reflects in their ability to read, write and speak to others effectively. This led her to pursue her Masters in Reading and Literacy at the Bank Street College of Education in New York City. Although she is now a full-time Interior Design Assistant, she enjoys spending her spare time helping students gain confidence and reach their full potential through one-on-one and small group tutoring. 


Kevin grew up in New Mexico and has lived in Colorado and the Midwest before coming to the Tetons to enjoy the beauty of the area.  He graduated from Adrian College with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and studied Education en route to obtaining a Secondary teaching certificate in multiple states.  He has taught Math in both middle and high school in Michigan and Nebraska and has tutored everything from basic 6th grade Math to Calculus.  Kevin believes that anyone can learn Math with the proper outlook, guidance, and strategy.  He provides a positive disposition, structured support, and a plan that scaffolds the content so students can find success in and out of the classroom. 


Anna grew up with a passion for learning by discovering and experimenting with the world around her. Throughout her college and graduate education Anna pursued a hands-on educational experience that met her learning needs. She attended Eckerd College, where she received a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science and after teaching outdoor education at a wolf sanctuary, Anna decided to pursue a Master’s degree in Science Education. Her love for wild places brought her to Grand Teton National Park where she attended the Teton Science Schools’ Graduate Program. Anna then completed her Master’s Degree in Natural Science Education from the Science and Mathematics Teaching Center at the University of Wyoming.

Throughout her teaching career Anna has worked in a variety of formal and informal educational settings including classrooms, wildlife sanctuaries, national parks, and non-profit organizations. Anna currently works at the Jackson Hole Children’s Museum as the After school and STEAM Lead Teacher. Anna teaches with the intention to connect to all student learning needs through differentiated lessons and by inspiring students to be excited about their learning.


Erin graduated from St. Lawrence University with a B.A. in Anthropology and Environmental Studies. Her interest in environmental conservation led her out West to Teton Science Schools, where she quickly discovered a deep passion for teaching and learning. She earned her teacher certification and M.A. in Human Learning and Development from the University of Colorado. Over the years, she has taught in both private and public school settings in Connecticut, Colorado, Idaho, and Wyoming. She is currently an elementary reading interventionist. She enjoys working with students in one-on-one and small group settings in order to meet the individual needs of each student, fill gaps, challenge students, and achieve significant learning and growth outcomes. Erin strives to help each student to develop a deep love of learning through access, engagement, and understanding. 


Jill brings 29 years of classroom teaching experience and five years of private tutoring experience with her to Teton Tutors. She has worked with all age groups and most subject areas in both public and private school settings. Jill’s strengths lie in vast curriculum expertise, classroom management, and relationships with students and families. In addition to classroom teaching, some of Jill's unique experiences include: leading and coordinating 5th grade capstone research projects, supervising senior level IB extended essays, directing and producing 14 plays and musicals to coaching competitive high school math teams. These varied experiences make Jill an innovative teacher and tutor.

She earned a Bachelor’s degree in English with a secondary teaching certificate grades 6-12 from the University of Alaska, Fairbanks and a Master’s in Arts in Education. She taught in “bush” Alaska for four years and then an additional 16 years in Anchor Point, Alaska. She was a leader in establishing the Writing Process, furthering the gifted education program, and teaching remote classes via satellite to students in small, Alaskan villages. She moved back to Jackson, WY in 2006 and taught at the Journeys School until 2015 when she retired and began tutoring.

Jill knows that fostering skills in her students will give them the confidence they need to succeed academically. Gaining academic strength is the goal of her tutoring sessions.
